Alabama Virtual Academy at Eufaula City Schools (ALVA) is a tuition-free full-time online program of the Chickasaw City School District for students. We’re dedicated to inspiring and empowering students through an education experience tailored to each child’s needs.

ALVA is open to full-time, Alabama residents. It offers a personalized approach to education, career and college prep, dedicated Alabama state-certified teachers, Honors and AP® courses, and adherence to required state testing.

The Support You and Your Student Need

Our teachers are committed to helping your family succeed with online learning. They provide instruction and support as your child works through the curriculum. And they keep the lines of communication open through email, phone, online “Class Connect” sessions, and online and in-person activities. You’ll also receive textbooks and other hands-on materials delivered right to your door! These offline materials complement the interactive online elements of the lessons and vary by grade and course.

Career and College Prep

You can use your high school years to figure out where you want to go and how to get there. In addition to core courses, you’ll take career-focused classes to explore your options and find your passion—all while earning your high school diploma. Discovering what you want to do now can prepare you to dive into a career right out of high school or help you make the right decision about your college major. Career fields include Business Management & Administration, Education & Training, and Information Technology.

School Opening and Location

MU Prep held its inaugural first day of school on August 3, 2022, for Indiana residents only. For the 2023–2024 school year, MU Prep has expanded to offer our innovative, virtual full-time enrollment to students in more than 30 states. MU Prep-Indiana offers a fully virtual program to students across the state and a hybrid learning option, including in-person learning at Marian University in the heart of Indianapolis, Indiana. Conveniently located, the beautiful campus is an inspiring place to learn and reflect. MU Prep hopes to expand hybrid learning models to other locations in the future.

At Genesis Innovative School, all students interact with one or more state-certified teachers (depending on the grade level) and communicate regularly with their teachers through email, telephone, and online meetings. Enrolled families receive educational materials, to enhance the learning experience. These materials complement the interactive lessons ensuring that students receive instruction using the best method for each subject matter.

Extensive School Support System

Genesis Innovative School also provides an extensive support system for both parents and students.

In grades K–6, working closely with the teacher, the parent (or other responsible adult) helps to facilitate student progress and works to modify the pace and schedule as needed.

At the middle and high school level, students work at more of a collective pace with a class of students in conjunction with the teacher. Each teacher is trained in his or her specific subject area. In addition, monthly networking opportunities are provided through various events and outings, enabling the entire school community to keep in close contact.
