How do I choose what’s best for my child?

Early education is an important consideration for families. In defining program options, states and schools use various names for these programs, such as pre-kindergarten and transitional kindergarten. What they have in common is that they are typically intended for students who either don’t meet the age requirement for kindergarten or aren’t yet ready for a full kindergarten curriculum.

Is my child eligible to complete PreK?

Pre-kindergarten programs and age requirements vary by state and school. Please check with your state to ensure your student meets the requirements.

What is the K12 PreK curriculum like?

K12’s award-winning transitional kindergarten curriculum, Embark, was created by a team of developmental psychologists and academics. It includes high-quality online and offline learning experiences with exposure to core subjects. Courses are highly interactive, with engaging audio and visuals that help children follow along.

The curriculum allows students to move at a pace that suits their learning style. The courses also integrate the highly engaging Doggyland and Tabtime educational videos into their learning structure to delight young learners. In addition, students are supported by certified teachers through live classroom sessions and receive hands-on curriculum materials delivered to your door.
